If you are in Bangalore and went on weekend trips from Bangalore, you'd know that finding tourist destinations and planning a day trip is not an easy task for you.

Check out the following weekend and day-trip spots in and around Bangalore. These tourist destinations are for all kinds of travelers - for the adventure seeker, family vacations, fun outing with friends, cycling and car etc., etc., etc.,

Innovative Film City

Innovative Film City is an amusement park located at Bidadi on Bangalore - Mysore highway; it is located about 50 kilometers from Bangalore. It is a new theme park which arrived in Bangalore in 2008.

The attraction of this theme park include a wax museum, the dinosaur museum, a special section entitled "Cartoon Town" for children, a labyrinth of mirrors, 4D movies and more. Tickets are a bit expensive though. You have to pay between INR. 300 - INR 1000 per person, depending on what attraction you want to see inside. There are decent food courts where you can lunch or a snack.

If you want to spend a weekend of fun with your family or friends, Innovative film city is really worth a visit. If you want to spend entire day in the Innovative Film city, then you should leave early.

Yelagiri Hills

This unpopular hill-station is located near Krishnagiri town in Tamilnadu on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway. Yelagiri Hills is about 150 kilometers from Bangalore and around 250 Kilometers from Chennai.

Yelagiri Hills is not typical tourist attraction; this place is for those wishing to escape the monotony of ordinary cities to just relax for a couple of days. The hill station is at a height of about 900 meters or 3000 feet above the sea level and the weather is enjoyable throughout the year.

The main attractions of Yelagiri Hills are a lake where you can go for boating, Swamimalai - a trek of 3 Km uphill takes you to a small temple and panoramic views of the mountains. There are plenty of hotels (many which call themselves as resorts) in Yelagiri. The hotels get crowded during weekend and holidays.

How to reach: By Cars, Taxis, Buses
Road condition: Good
