The stony hills on the surrounding areas will add up the attractiveness of this place, and a very popular natural spring existing in this region attracts many visitors, tourists as well as pilgrims because of its sacred importance.

There are a couple of Temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha Swamy at Devarayanadurga.

The temple, constructed in Dravidian design of architecture, faces east and it is believed to have been built by Kanthirava Narasaraja I. As per the inscriptions numbered Tumkur 41 & 42, we realize that the enclosed space plus tower have been repaired in 1858 by Mysore ruler Krishnaraja Wodeyar III.

The TVS Group, a south Indian automobile firm, has aided a lot for the improvement as well as renovation of temple locality.

Bhoga Naraishma temple is at the bottom of the hill & Yoga Narasimha temple is on top of the hill.

Namada Chilume :

At the bottom of the hill the road leading towards Tumkur, is a spot called Namada Chilume (the meaning of chilume is spring). As per the mythology, Lord Rama on his route to Lanka stayed at this place. Since he didn't locate water at this place to wet his "Nama" (a type of paste Hindus put on on their forehead), he shot an arrow into the earth, then a spring sprang and therefore the name Namada chilume. The spring is still seen, plus there exists a foot impression of Lord Sri Rama near the spring.
