Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace
Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace is one of the main attractions of Bangalore city and it is located in heart of Bangalore city to the west of Kote Venkataramana Temple. Hyder Ali
imitated the construction of the Palace and his son Tipu Sultan completed the construction in 1791.
Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace was built 200 years ago and completely constructed using teak wood so it is also known as wooden palace. It served as the guest house for Tipu during summer.
The two-storied palace stands adorned with attractive arches, beautiful pillars, and balconies. On either side of the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, you can see the beautiful gardens, which
lead to its main entrance. There are charming floral motifs decorating the walls and the ceilings of the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace in Bangalore. Tipu Sultan used to conduct the affairs of
the state from the eastern and western balconies of the upper floor.
After the death of Tipu sultan, this beautiful monument was used by the British administration as their secretariat, till the year 1867.
