Religious Places in Bangalore

Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple: Sri Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, the ancient temple was cut from a rock somewhere around the ninth century and later it had been renovated by Kempe
Gowda, the founder of Bangalore. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located in Gavipuram Guttahalli. The temple is exclusive due to its strange occurrence on Makara Sankrati day every year
(Jan 14 or Jan 15). A ray of sunlight passes exactly through the horns of the stone bull outside the temple and illuminates the deity (Shiva Linga) inside the cave. This proves the amazing architectural

Banashankari Temple: The temple is located in Banashankari one of the main localities in Kanakapura Road. This temple was constructed in the year 1915 by Somanna Shetty, a devotee
of Goddess Banashankari. He brought a deity of from Badami, in Bijapur district, and installed it inside the temple. The unique feature of this Banashankari Temple is deity is worshiped during Rahukala
(inauspicious time for Hindus). The temple is more crowded with devotees on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays particularly by more number of females.
Dharmaraya Temple: Dharamraya Temple is situated in the Nagarathpet area of Bangalore. This temple is connected to the Karaga festival, an important annual event held in Bangalore
every year. On the day of the Karaga Festival, the Karaga kept within the temple is taken out for a procession, which covers a distance of roughly 20-25 km.
St. Mary's Basilica: The St. Mary's Basilica is located in Shivajinagar, one of the busiest localities of Bangalore. This church is situated opposite to the Russel Market. This is
one of the oldest churches in Bangalore which was initially built in the year 1818 as a small chapel by Abbe Dubois. But, later, Reverend L.E. Kleiner got it modified into an ornate Gothic style
